Day 3: Loch Lomond, The Highlands and Stirling

Day 3 is nearly under our belts, and it was a whirlwind tour of beautiful countryside and a castle! We started by traveling to the quaint village of Luss, which is on the shore of Loch Lomond, Scotland's largest loch. From there, we drove north into the Highlands and stopped at a scenic turnout called by our bus driver, "Stop And Be Thankful." Even though the wind was howling as strong as any Oklahoma gust, it couldn't spoil a breathtaking snow-peaked mountain scene. From there, we continued to the city of Sterling. Sterling is famous for its castle on a hill overlooking the city. The castle visit included the William Wallace monument. Afterward, it was off to Edinburgh for our first evening in this capital city.
