Our short flight from London to Edinburgh allowed us to catch a bird's eye view of the the landscape of the beautiful countryside that we will explore over the next two days. Tomorrow: we travel through the Highlands and its rolling terrain, then off to Stirling castle (Braveheart!) before returning to Edinburgh.

Welcome to Scotland!
Well, we've made it to Scotland! We've had a rigorous journey on three different planes that included an extended layover in London today. During that layover, we had the opportunity to enjoy a taste of the beautiful city that we will return to on the 16th. That tour included Piccadilly Circus (think: Times Square), Leicester Square (the theater district) and Trafalgar Square. The highlight of this excursion may have been the stop at the National Gallery, the home to masterpieces from the likes of Renoir, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Monet, Picasso, Reubens, and Van Gogh.
